Obituary

Marie Occhipinto Moley, 94 of Spring Hill, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, peacefully in her sleep.

Marie was born on December 14, 1919, in Kansas City, Missouri to Anthony and Giovanna (DiCapo) Occhipinto. She was the oldest of their eight children. She married Frank P. Moley on July 18, 1938 and enjoyed 60 wonderful years. They raised five children, Michael, Josephine, Mary Beth, Frank and Rita.

They were both life-long members of the Society Camporealese. They owned many businesses included Moley's Ballroom, Moley's Cleaners, Pasta Villa Restaurant and Moley's Real Estate Corporation. They always enjoyed cooking Italian specialties together; especially for the annual St. Joseph Tables on his Feast Day, March 19th. In her later years having moved to Spring Hill, Kansas, Marie's passion continued to be cooking, baking and playing cards with her friends Josephine Badale, Cena Accurso, Mickey Yarnevich, Clarinne DiGiovanni, Josephine Lipari, Mary Necessary and many others. Their weekly trips to Waid's were the spark that kept her going.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Josephine Tarantino; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Gena and Hank Cangelose, Angeline and Carl Scavuzzo; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Marie Occhipinto, Joe and Helen Occhipinto, Vincent Occhipinto; and brothers-in-law Pete Moley and Anthony Ferrara.
