Marion C. Saladino, fondly known as Sal, was born on January 8th, 1940, and peacefully passed away on July 19th, 2024, in Kansas City.

Sal grew up in Northeast Kansas City and was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Northeast High School. In October 1960, he married his beloved wife Agnes, and their bond lasted an incredible 63 years.

Sal pursued a career as a plumber, training at Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 8. His dedication and expertise earned him a supervisory role at Garney Plumbing, where he honed his skills in the industry. Driven by a vision to create his own path, Sal founded Saladino Plumbing and Heating Company in 1981, later expanding into Saladino Mechanical.

Sal's entrepreneurial spirit and relentless work ethic defined him. Alongside Agnes, he nurtured Saladino Mechanical into a successful enterprise, treating his employees like family. Known for his firm yet caring leadership style, Sal always prioritized the well-being of his employees.

Beyond business, Sal was a devoted family man. He watched over his children and grandchildren tirelessly, ensuring they had everything they needed. He cherished family time, whether through vacations or building a lake home where they could gather.

Sal's legacy is one of hard work, love for family, and entrepreneurial spirit. His impact will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, both in business and in his personal life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Agnes Saladino ; parents Louis and Helen Saladino; sister Roseann Ferrara; father-in-law and mother-in-law Alfonso and Anna Marie Christofano; as well as his brothers-in-law Anthony Christofano and Jerome Christofano; and sisters-in-law Anna May Christofano, Carol Christofano, and Mary Francis Christofano.

He is survived by his four children Louis and Lisa Saladino, Alfonso and Alaina Saladino, Helena Vilott, and John and Rita Saladino; his grandchildren Marion and Kristina Saladino, Elisa and Alex Cook, Agnesa Saladino, Jack and Taylor Saladino, Anthony and Abby Albera, Dominic Albera, Marion J. Saladino, Luci Saladino, John Saladino, Jacob Vilott, Agnesa Vilott, Anessa Saladino, Dominic Saladino, and Mara Saladino; great-grandchildren Collette Saladino, Marianna Saladino, Louis Saladino and Maren Cook; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Cathy Saladino; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Victor Ferrara, Simon and Antoinette Christofano, Joe Mike and Phyllis Christifano, Angelo Christofano, Marie Christofano; and many nieces and nephews, all who meant the world to him.

A special thanks and debt of gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers that showed love and compassion for Marion and Agnes.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 25, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Rosary at 12:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64138. A luncheon will follow the entombment to celebrate Marion's life at 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The Stanley Event Space 308 SE Douglas St, Lee's Summit, MO 64063. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Marion's name to the American Cancer Society.
