Marita A. Cappo, 83, passed away July 19, 2022.

Marita was born and grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, she is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bonnie Grisafe, her sister Bonnie Joe (Grisafe) Ross and her loving husband of 60 years Anthony Cappo .  She leaves behind her loving children, Margo (Al) Christofano, Frank (Kris) Cappo, Bonnie (JW Peloquin) Cappo. She also leaves behind five grandchildren Antoinette Christofano, Simon Christofano, Anthony Christofano, Marissa Cappo, and Ross Cappo. They were the pride and joy of her life. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Marita attended Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City, Missouri.  Following high school, she worked in her father's clothing store, Mr. G's Men's Wear in Kansas City, Missouri. Most of her career was spent working for Grand American Hotel Corporation and American Executive Hotel Management as a bookkeeper.

Marita loved her family and friends dearly, she also loved cooking for family and friends and making Italian cookies with her grandkids at the holidays and special occasions. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Chiefs, Royals, and her all-time favorite KU Basketball.  Marita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nani and Nonnie to her many grandkids.  She was most happy when she was feeding family and friends especially at the holidays, Christmas being her favorite.

We want to especially thank all the Physicians, Nurses and staff at St. Luke's South and St. Luke's Heart Institute for caring for Mom during her time in their care.

There will be a one-hour visitation Friday, July 22 ^nd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 14251 Nall Avenue, Leawood, KS 66224.  Entombment will be family members only.  The casket will remain closed.
