Mary Patt Counti, 98, passed away March 8, 2016, under the exceptional care of Ascend Hospice. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Mary was born October 1, 1917, in Raytown, MO, and was a very active and social lady. After retiring from Montgomery Wards she went to work at the Royals/Chiefs stadiums until she was 85 years old. From there went to the Holy Cross Senior Center where she served as president and worked with Meals on Wheels. Mary also belonged to the Saturday Night Girls Club with 11 of her closest friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Counti Sr.; daughter-in-law, Shirley Counti; and son, Vincent Counti Jr. She was the last of 10 children born to Salvatore and Sarah DeLuca.

Mary leaves behind her son, Thomas Counti; daughter-in-law, Virginia Counti; daughter, Sarah Burns (Carl); daughter, Annette Tann (Kenneth); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
