Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Moley was born on a spring day, April 3rd, 1951, to Frank P and Marie J Moley. She attended Christ the King Grade School and Notre Dame De Sion College Preparatory High School. She continued her education studying Art at UMKC and obtained her Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Kansas.  Her teaching career started in the Kansas City Missouri School District, followed by several years at her beloved Notre Dame De Sion. She ended her public school teaching journey in the Olathe School District. Mary Beth then joined the faculty of Penn Valley Community College where she taught for 42 more years, serving as department chair and receiving countless accolades for both her teaching and her own artwork. Mary Beth had a passion for art as well as the lives of the students she influenced in her long career as an educator. Mary Beth believed and demonstrated through her work that the arts made the world a better place.

Mary Beth met her husband Mark Dennis, who gave her "The Vapors" when she first saw his eyes. She and Mark were happily married for 31years. However, she said her most artistic creation was her daughter, Marina Dennis, the love of her life.

In 2004 Mary Beth fought and beat breast cancer, but cancer wasn't done with her. She ultimately succumbed after a long battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma on August 28, 2024.

She loved her family and will be at peace with her mother and father Frank and Marie Moley, her sister Josephine Tarantino, and her father-in-law Alfred Dennis.

She will be missed by her husband Mark Dennis, daughter Marina Dennis, siblings Michael Moley (Mary Ellen), Frank Moley Jr (Courtney), and Rita Moley Dickey (David), brother-in-law Peter Tarantino, mother-in-law Madonna Dennis, and her in-laws Tom Dennis (Patricia), John Dennis (Sarah), Joseph Dennis (Lori), and James Dennis, along with too many nieces, nephews, and cousins to list.
