Mary (Sciortino) Panethere, 84, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, surrounded by her family. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at St. James Catholic Church, 309 S. Stewart Rd., Liberty, MO 64068. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, at St. James Church, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Please omit flowers.

Mary was born July 20, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, to John and Virginia (LaBruzzo) Sciortino. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Manuel, Jesse, Bennie, and Nick Sciortino; sisters, Rose Spears, Lena Castelluccio, and Kathryn Taylor; and great-granddaughter, Lucy Laurine Gagnon.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Joseph Panethere; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurine and Rick Calvert; Christina and Frank Disciacca; grandchildren, Chris and Heather Gagnon, Joe and Kendra Gagnon, John and Christina Gagnon, Marie Disciacca, Mary and Matt Lane, Joe Mike Disciacca; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Ginneman, Betty Seredich, Josephine Bermel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
