Bernita Maribel "Mary" Pettit, 83, passed away October 2, 2022. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Mary was born July 10, 1939, in Cotter, Arkansas, to the late Hubert Lee and Mabel Lucille (Parks) Petty. She worked over 20 years at the Romanelli Grill in Waldo before retiring. She was a published poet and member of the Greater Kansas City Poets Society.

Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother Hubert Lee Petty Jr. She is survived by her children, Danny Pettit (Lorraine), Bryan Pettit (Marlene), and Janine Wilson (Daryl); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sisters Joanne Masterson (Bob) and Sharon Fermyn (Richard).
