Mary Poeta, 93, passed away December 10, 2018, with her loving family at her side. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 13, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Family & Friends will gather on Friday, December 14, at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 NW R.D. Mize Rd., Blue Springs, MO 64015, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum.

Mary was born June 29, 1925, in Nanty Glo, PA, to the late Angelo and Maria Chiari. She retired from the KCMO Police Dept. as a top civilian employee, and loved cooking, baking, and family game night.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; and her daughter, Patricia. Survivors include her son, Carmen Poeta (Mariann); grandchildren, Mary (Court), Cetta (David), and Angela; great-grandchildren, Ryan Anthony, Chiari, and David Allen; goddaughter, Annette; and many loving neighbors and dear friends.
