Mary (Leggio) Singleton, 84, Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 1, at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Mary was born October 25, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Nunzio and Carmela (Belgiere) Leggio. She retired from the Kansas City, MO School District where she was head baker at Northeast High School. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting the casinos. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Singleton, in 1988; her brothers, Angelo Leggio and Sam Leggio; and her sisters, Lena Mancini, Carm Sherpy and Jennie Sivils.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Carol and Fred Vance, Charlie and Jeanette Singleton; grandchildren, Fred J. Vance, Jennifer and Eric Schmidt, Stacey Vance, Kevin Singleton, Crystal and Jeff Goss; great-grandchildren, Kyler Lee, Jaylee, and Charlee Goss; sisters and brother-in-law, Sadie and Carl DiGerlamo, Angeline Passantino; sister-in-law, Cherie Leggio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
