Obituary

Mary (Occhipinti) Todd, 93, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Garden Valley Manor. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Contributions are suggested to NorthCare Hospice House.

Mary was born February 20, 1919 in Camporeale, Sicily to Domenico and Mary (Zuppardo) Occhipinti. She was a seamstress and member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and owned her own custom drapery business. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Todd, in 1995; her parents; her sisters and brother-in-law, Fannie and George Donnici, Antoinette Otero; and brothers and sister-in-law, Saverio Occhipinti, and Joseph and Margaret Occhipinti.

She is survived by her children, Ron "Ret" Todd, Bob and Rosemary Todd, Patty and Mike Lalumia; grandchildren, Bobby and Jessica Todd, Joe Mike Lalumia and fiancée Mandy Kennedy, Frank and Alison Lalumia, Gina and Stephen Pasalich, Michael Todd, Maria Lalumia, Bianca Todd and fiancée Matt Leis, Nina Todd-Jones; great-grandchildren, Carter, Blake, Sophia, Caroline, Alyssa, R.J., Joey; brother-in-law, Ivan Otero; sister-in-law, Eva Occhipinti; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family offers a special thank you to Pearl Cervello, the staff of NorthCare Hospice, and the staff of Garden Valley Manor for the care given to Mary.
