Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation.
Mary was born on September 28, 1951 to Carl and Dorothy Vigliaturo. She was a 1969 graduate of Northeast High School. She waited tables at many restaurants, two of her favorites being Veccos on 39th and The Cigar Box. She loved working with people she grew up with. She enjoyed planting flowers and being property manager for Garcia Properties, which she managed for her son, and enjoyed late night talks with neighbors as they performed neighborhood watch patrol. She had a talent for decorating crafts and personal items for her family. She loved making homemade popcorn and watching scary movies with her grandkids who knew she had a weak spot for them and could never say "no".
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Della Saffel. She is survived by her son, Carl "CJ" Garcia and wife Celita; daughter, Mandy Garcia and husband Dan; grandchildren, Micheal, Jordan, Isabella, and Lily-Ana; sisters and brothers in-law, Sandy and Brian Quackenbush, Carol and Mike Barton, Joann and Carlo Fontana; brother, Joe Vigliaturo and fiancée Jen Cervello; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her lifelong and devoted friend, Lala Misasi Jones, for being by her side through good and bad. A warm hearted thank you to NorthCare Hospice House for their superior care of Mary.
