Obituary

Michael V. Foley, 67, passed away September 25, 2021, in Parker, KS watching football in his living room. He was at home with his beloved dog Rose by his side.  Services will be private.

Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 9, 1954, to Vincent and Emma Jane Foley. He graduated from Lillis High School where he played basketball  and football. Growing up, Mike spent most summers at Camp Ondessonk in Ozark, Illinois. Mike made lifelong friends and had many great experiences there. He  studied at several colleges in the area. He was an avid outdoorsman, accomplished hunter, and conservationist. Mike loved nature and had a lifelong affinity for the clean air and wild landscapes of the big sky western mountains. Mike worked with horses in the outdoors most of his life. He won several awards in rodeo and western sports and was a participant in the extreme cowboy race. He followed his life's passion for horses and when he retired, he was the Barn Manager at the Saddle and Sirloin country club in Kansas City, Missouri. He loved to travel and spend time with family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved nephew Anthony V. Bruno. He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He will be deeply missed forever. He is survived by his son MSgt Sean M. Foley, USMC; grandchildren Conor and Riley Foley; his daughter Kelli M. Manning and son-in-law Jason Manning; grandchildren  Landri, Hudson, and Rowyn Manning; sister Dee Bruno and brother-in-law John; sister Kathy Foley and Jeff Cohen; and nieces Mary Ballou, Catherine Mingrone, and their families.

Mike Foley lived by the mantra live hard, laugh hard, love hard and have no regrets. He was a special breed of man and an all-American cowboy. He will be missed dearly.
