Michael Carl Quarrato, 77, Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42 nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116, where the Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be private. Donations in Michael's honor are suggested to St. Pius X High School.
Michael was born October 21, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Carlo and Jennie (Belfonte) Quarrato, and graduated from Holy Rosary Grade School and DeLaSalle High School. Michael was an Eagle Scout by the age of 13 and was a Hardway Warrior member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also served in the National Guard. Michael was a member of American Sons of Columbus and UNICO, a board member of Holy Rosary Credit Union, and a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary Church. Michael owned Broadway Liquor and Delicatessen for over 30 years. In 1990, before he sold the liquor store, he bought Roma Bakery with his nephews Carl and John Filardo. Together, with his son Carl Michael, they worked to build up a successful business - with family at the heart.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Antoinette, who he married in December of 2010; his son Carl Michael and Sara Quarrato, daughter Jennifer and Jefferson Davis, daughter Kathleen and Jeffrey Wessinger; and his grandchildren who he adored and who lovingly called him "Papa": Carleigh, Jennie and Michael Quarrato; Charlie, Joseph and Quincy Davis; Josie, Ava and Lyla Wessinger; sisters Rosemary and Sal Cilia, Jacqueline Filardo and Gerry Quarrato; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Michael is also survived by Antoinette's children: daughter Gina and Joe Phil Mandacina, son Ross Strada and Mary Cuezze, daughter Carla and Phillip Triano; and grandchildren Ross Joseph and Antoinina Strada, Anthony Ross and Mia Triano.
Pallbearers: Angelo Cilia, Joseph Filardo, Carl Filardo, John Filardo, Michael Filardo, Joe Phil Mandacina, Ross Strada, and Phillip Triano.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael's many dear friends.
