Michelle Renae Castro, 53, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 10th, 2026, at her home.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on July 19th, 1972, Michelle achieved certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on September 16th, 1998. She spent over 28 years as a respected nurse, most recently at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and was known for her deep affection for patients and co-workers. She had also worked at Ponak's Mexican Kitchen & Bar. Chelle loved taking care of her four fur-babies: two Chihuahuas named Rosey and Charlie, and two cats named Bubba and Spider Monkey. She enjoyed spending time with her fiancé, Chris, and doing various activities such as going to concerts, eating out, or staying in to watch a movie.

Chelle was preceded in death by her daughter Olivia, and her father David Castro Jr. She is survived by her mother Sherry Metcalf; her brothers David (Michelle) and Joe Mike Castro; sister Sabrina Metcalf; and fiancé Chris Gonsalves along with his parents Ingrid and Lenny.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to KC Pet Project .
