Richard Michael Freeman, "Mike", 76, passed away October 4, 2023. Services will be Saturday, October 7, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City North. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation .

Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 23, 1946, to the late Ray and Irma Freeman (nee Stafford) and was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School where he was a four-year member of the band. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam, serving from 1965 to 1969, and was active with the Marine Toys for Tots program. He worked as a surveillance officer for Harrah's North Kansas City Casino for 20 years. Mike was a simple man who enjoyed simple pleasures – eating out, visiting local casinos, and trips to Branson especially during the Christmas season.

Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother Bob Freeman, and his grandson Chace Freeman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Marge Freeman (nee Sorrentino); his children Angela Freeman, Gina Duke (Derek), and Michael Freeman (Amanda); his grandchildren Dominic (Alondra), Dillon (Leighanne), Casey, Mia, Byron, Hudson, and Thomas; his great-granddaughter Magnolia; his siblings Mark Freeman (Debby) and Patty Nixon; brother-in-law Paul Sorrentino (Cissy); sister-in-law Maggi Freeman; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Michael Freeman, Dominic Freeman, Derek Duke, Dillon Johnston, Tyler Freeman, and Chris Freeman.
