Reverend Monsignor Joseph Anthony Mancuso, 77, passed to his eternal reward on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. The Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. followed by visitation from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, followed by entombment at Resurrection Mausoleum, Kansas City North. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in Msgr. Mancuso's memory to the St. Andrew the Apostle School Fund.

Msgr. Mancuso was born May 12, 1939, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic School in 1952 and made the decision to serve the Lord. He studied at St. Charles Seminary in Staten Island, NY, and was ordained a priest in the Scalabrini Order on June 6, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Staten Island. He served in various parishes in Canada and the east coast before returning to Kansas City in 1971, with the approval of Rome, to be a priest of the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph.

Msgr. Mancuso served as parochial vicar at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Holy Cross, and served as pastor of Immaculate Conception in Montrose, St. George in Odessa, St. Mary in Independence, Christ the King and St. Anthony in Kansas City, and St. Andrew the Apostle in Gladstone. On August 16, 2006, he was bestowed Pontifical Honors by Pope Benedict XVI as Chaplain to His Holiness. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, who honored him with a scholarship fund in his name. He retired from active ministry in 2011.

Msgr. Mancuso was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Mancuso; and his brother-in-law, John Wutich. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Margaret Mancuso, Paul and Margaret Mancuso, Greg and Denise Mancuso; sister, Anna Wutich; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
