My Rae DeVore Migliazzo (77) of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024. Her soul has been released from her broken body and has returned to heaven where she will see and walk again.
My Rae was born on July 26, 1947, in Des Moines, IA. She grew up in Earlham, IA and went to Earlham high school. She loved music and was the singer in her high school's jazz band. My Rae went on to study music at Northwest Missouri State University.
My Rae was the spunky spark of her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana and great nana. She loved raising her boys at Lake Lotawana where she taught youth sailing and water skiing. My Rae was a wonderful cook, and she often enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
Mrs. Migliazzo was an active member of the Church of the Nativity where she was a communion minister with her seeing eye dog, Iris, and a member of the choir. She also volunteered at St. Mary's Food Kitchen.
My Rae is survived by her husband, Salvatore "Sam" Migliazzo; sons, Bretton Stafford (Cassie), Matthew Stafford (Marti), Andrew Stafford (Amy), John Migliazzo (Linda) and Matthew Migliazzo (Marisue); ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Pam DeVore (Ross). She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Darlene DeVore; brother, Tom DeVore and Stepson, Carl Philip Migliazzo.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. followed by Visitation at 10:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served at the parish hall after Mass. Following the luncheon, interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131.
The family would like to thank the staff at Villa St. Francis, who have taken wonderful care of MyRae for the last five years.
