Nancy J. DiGiovanna, 86, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 318 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. The family suggests contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Nancy was born July 18, 1925 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Laura (Montalbano) Ferrara. She worked a variety of jobs over the years and after her retirement enjoyed babysitting for her family. She looked forward to the holidays, especially the baking of cookies and cannolis, and enjoyed celebrating St. Joseph's Day with family and friends and preparing the meal for that special day. She was a member of Assumption / St. Anthony Parish.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank J. DiGiovanna, in 1997; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Anna "Dude" Ferrara, Frank Ferrara, and Michael V. and Mary Sue Ferrara.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Antoinette DiGiovanna and Laura Ann DiGiovanna; sister, Mary Ann (Ferrara) Wells; sister-in-law, Anna Ferrara; and many nieces and nephews.
