Nancy L. Lane, affectionately known as 'Fancy Nancy' and 'Suckawitch', tragically passed early in the morning on February 10, 2021.

Nancy was a caring person that loved her family above all else. She enjoyed spending time with those close to her, and always tried to make everyone feel loved. Her favorite things to do were playing cards and doing crafts. She loved coloring in her books all day long and enjoyed a plethora of other crafts like stained glass, painting, macramé, ceramics, jewelry making, and more. It brought her joy to be able to give her creations to her family so they could display them in their homes. She also absolutely adored shopping. She would spend hours on end looking for clothes and stuff for her house, and it would make her exceedingly happy when she was able to get a deal.  She tried hard to stay up to date with technology, always wanting to try out the newest phone or tablets, but often struggled to grasp the more complicated aspects of it all.

Nancy was very opinionated, and not at all afraid to let anyone know how she felt about something, but at the end of the day made sure to let everyone know she cared for them. Some more of her favorite things were sweets, chocolates, and having a good meal. She enjoyed songs from almost any decade and loved to watch the Chiefs play. She loved animals, but none more than her puppy, Shauna, who passed a few months before she did.

Nancy dedicated over 50 years to work. Partly as a secretary at a cold packing plant, then in the US Postal Office. One thing she always loved without fail was a good joke. You could tell her 100 and she would think the 100th was just as funny as the 1st.

Nancy leaves behind a large family who love her dearly - mother of three, Melody Lane, Gayle Green, and Rama Lackey (spouse Chad Lackey); grandmother of eight, Emily VonSwearingen, Jeff Shank, Jenny Shank Scherzberg, Chloe Schempf Harp (spouse Ray Harp), Angela Stribling, Nick Tryon, Steven Bennien (partner Hana Mardis), and Caitlin Lackey; and great-grandma to six, Gray Scherzberg, Jasper Harp, Juniper Harp, Alex Bennien, Aiden Bennien, and Avery Bennien.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, KCMO. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO.
