Nicholas Anthony Simone, 81, Northeast Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home.

Nick was born June 21, 1931 to Joe and Anna (Mancuso) Simone. He attended Garfield Elementary and Northeast High School. For close to 50 years he was co-owner of Simone Shoe Service. In 1954 he married Dorothy Eggen in Jefferson City, MO. He was a member of St. Anthony Parish. Nick enjoyed bowling and was proud to have won a father and son tournament with his father. He was a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Royals and the University of Missouri.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tom and Joe; and sister, Florence. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy; his son, Nick Simone; his daughter, Mary Pat Simone; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sylvia Simone; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Simone, Alfred and Kathleen Eggen, Albert Haller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 20, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kansas City Hospice, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
