Nora San Roman Rovirosa, 88, passed peacefully in the presence of her loving family on October 28, 2015.

Nora was born in Havana, Cuba on October 17, 1927. After graduating from college she became a kindergarten teacher and was deeply dedicated to her students. She enjoyed sharing these gifts with her grandchildren. Nora married the love of her life, Alfredo Rovirosa, in 1949. In 1962, they selflessly uprooted their lives, fleeing communist Cuba to provide a better life for their four children in the United States. Nora was known for her beauty, grace, elegance, strength, her genuine warmth, and her delicious Cuban cooking. She was the "gran dama" of the Cuban community and adored by all.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Cesar San Roman and Hilda de la Paz; her beloved husband Alfredito; and her brother Cesar San Roman. She is survived by her children Maria Rovirosa (Steve Herring), Christi DiMiceli (Louie), Vicky Wood (Robert), and Ignacio Rovirosa. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Talia San Roman, Matthew DiMiceli (Ashlee), Elena DiMiceli, and Alexandra, Nicolas, Jonathan (Ashley), Alexander, Isabella, Adelaide, Emmaline, Josiah, Priscilla, Zachary, and Benjamin Rovirosa. She was also delighted to be the great-grandmother of Kieran Miller. She also leaves behind her niece Annie San Roman, and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 1, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 4 p.m. Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Monday, November 2, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge, Raytown, MO 64138.
