Pat Kosorog
Hempstead
Nov 20, 1940 — Jan 11, 2024
Patricia "Pat" Kosorog Hempstead, born November 20, 1940, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, with her family all around her and her niece and nephew holding her hand. Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 a.m. followed by Visitation at 9:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The American Cancer Society .
Pat worked in the grain business at the Kansas City Board of Trade on the Plaza before retiring and was a long-time parishioner of Holy Rosary Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Family was important to her, especially time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, spending Sundays cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, baking, cooking, and shopping with her nieces, and most definitely LOVED shopping on QVC. She was always smiling. Above all, she was a loving sister and aunt.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Peter V. and Mary Ann Kosorog; her sister-in-law Toni Kosorog; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her only brother Richard Kosorog; her nephew Richard Jr. and Kim Kosorog; and niece Michele and Mike Negus. She is also survived by her great-nephews and great-nieces Bobby and Hollie, Richard III and Lexie, Cassie, and Peter Kosorog, Brittany, Toni Jo, and Becky Negus; and her great-great-nephew Abraham Kosorog. Aunt Pat had many lifelong friends who she considered family. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
We would like to give a special thanks to our cousin Kathy Swan for everything she has done for Aunt Pat all of their lives. She was referred to as Aunt Pat's little sister.
Pallbearers will be: Rich Jr., Mike, Bobby, Richard III, Peter, and Isaiah.
Honorary Pallbearers: Bernie Bianchino, Jimmy Vallacqua, and Mark Swan.
