Pat Anthony Palumbo Jr., 86, passed way Friday, October 30, 2020 surrounded by his family. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12 p.m. on Friday, November 6, at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required for the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Missouri Wolverines Youth Organization Inc. , the youth sports organization Pat supported and where his grandsons and great-grandchildren participate for youth football and sports training.

Pat was born February 27, 1934, in Johnstown, PA, to the late Patsy A. and Nellie (Caramico) Palumbo. He was known as "Junior" in his family and was the youngest of four brothers who preceded him in death, Robert, Frank, and Johnny Palumbo. Pat had a love for sports which started at a young age playing football and continued all the way through high school.  Later in life, Pat would chant his high school fight chant for his grandkids, always bringing a smile to their faces.

At 20 years old, he would meet the eventual love of his life Rosemarie while she was visiting Pennsylvania on a family vacation. They hit it off instantly which led Pat to embark on a trip that would take him to Kansas City see her. Once in KC, Pat planted roots here and ended up making Kansas City his new home. Leaving everything he had, including his family in Pennsylvania, he went to live in his future father-in-law's barber shop at first. He originally found work at Sealtest delivering milk, however Pat would eventually make a career providing for his family working as a bread man for Taystee Bread where he retired after working for 30 years.

Pat would go on to marry Rosemarie Christiano and they were happily married for over 30 years until her death in 1985. Pat and Rosemarie had three children: Rosalie, Pat, and Michael, seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

After the untimely passing of Rosemarie, Pat married his second wife, Virginia, a marriage that lasted for over 20 years until her passing in 2010.

Pat enjoyed golfing and looked forward to his nights out with his best buddies John Lipari, Tom Malaponte and Nick Giordano.  Pat and his friends went on many trips to Las Vegas and other hot spots. He enjoyed watching Penn State football, KC Royals, KC Chiefs, was a huge KU basketball fan, and loved watching golf.

For those who knew Pat around his friends, he will be remembered as the life of the party always making people laugh. There was never a dull moment when he was around, and others always felt welcomed. Then there was the grandpa side of Pat who would be in stands cheering his grandchildren on whether they were playing or coaching at their sporting events.

He was old school in every way - especially how he loved his family. He would never let any of his kids or grandkids get big heads, however he was the first to boast to others how proud he was of his three kids whether it be his daughter Rosalie's cooking, or Pat's artistic ability and his successful job, to Mike's golf skills and success at his job. He loved them all and was very proud of each of them for their success in life and most importantly how they raised their families.

Pat was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Rosemarie (Christiano) Palumbo; his second wife, Virginia Palumbo; and his grandson, Anthony Michael Palumbo. He is survived by his children, Rosalie Tuso (Jim), Pat Palumbo (Linda), Michael Palumbo (Kim); his  grandchildren, Jim Tuso Jr., Joe Mike Tuso (Raylene), Lisa M. Tuso, Pat Joseph Palumbo (Stacy), Michael Palumbo (Shannon), Colee Palumbo Quinonez (Joel); his great-grandchildren, Gia, Andrew, Anthony, Vinnie, Scarlett, Mykah, Stella, Mia, Nico, Maq, Milo, and one on the way; and his sister-in-law, Michelene LaSala.

Pallbearers will be his four grandsons along with John Lipari, Nick Giordano, and Tom Malaponte.
