Patricia Ann "Trish" Distefano passed away October 4, 2025.

Trish was born Patricia Ann Hannan on September 27, 1950.  She grew up in Kansas City in a tight-knit family with her loving parents and two sisters.

Following her graduation from Southeast High School in 1968, Trish began a long and impressive career with Hallmark Cards, where she was proud to have worked for 34 years.  She thoroughly enjoyed her career at Hallmark and made many special friends that she remained in touch with following retirement.

In 1989, after being set up on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Carl Distefano.  For Trish it was love at first sight and the two were married February 8, 1992.  Over the next 33 years they enjoyed a beautiful life together, traveling, spending time at the lake with family, attending sporting events, and having dinners with family and friends.

Trish was a fabulous cook and baker.  She took pride in preparing meals for family gatherings and loved trying new recipes.  Her wonderful dishes and desserts were legendary, and she happily shared her creations with her family and friends.  She was known for her chocolate cake, cannoli's, Italian cookies, many delicious Thanksgiving meals, and much more.

Trish was a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and was a 55-year season ticket holder, once even choosing a red car so that it would match her Chiefs flag.  She was a fan long before the team was winning Super Bowls and remained a dedicated fan her entire life.  So, it was no surprise to those of us who knew her when she created a quilt out of her collection of Kansas City Chiefs t-shirts!

Trish loved animals, particularly dogs, and enjoyed the love and companionship of many pets including her dogs Kaycee Lynn, Isabella, Luna and Sophia.

She was also a woman of deep faith and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  She often prayed the rosary and had a deep devotion to St. Anthony, praying the novena.

Most of all, Trish was a beautiful person, both inside and out.  There's no other way to say it – she was kind to everyone, loved everyone, and as a result she had close relationships with many nieces and nephews who adored her.  She was a positive influence and encouraging presence in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her, and she treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

Trish was preceded in death by her father James Hannan; in-laws Joseph and Katherine Distefano; aunts and uncles Mary and Sam Salvaggio, Benny and Katie Vazzano; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John and Florence Distefano, Rose and Sal Cuccia, John and Sylvia Simone, and Karen Distefano. She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years Carl Distefano; her mother Mary Hannan; sisters and brothers-in-law Janet and Phil Schneider, Mary Ellen and Keith Fugate; brother-in-law Nick Distefano; and many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her immensely.

Services will be held on Friday, October 10, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, MO. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
