Patricia Kathryn (O'Connor) Janacaro, "Patti", was born April 28, 1949, to John and Luella O'Connor and passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024.

Patti was a lifetime resident of the Kansas City Northland area.  She graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1967, where she fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Larry.  They were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on August 14, 1970.   Patti raised two children: daughter Annette and son Joe.  She loved being Nana to her prized grandchildren: Mary-Kate and Emilee Shelton, and Frankie and Haley Janacaro.

Patti thrived on hosting parties for her friends and the house was always open for her children's friends. Patti was truly a people person! She loved being a dental assistant and receptionist at the Gladstone Dental Building, working with Dr. Cosentino and Dr. Rodman for over 42 years.

Perhaps her favorite hobby was shopping and buying shoes. In fact, she would "give up" buying shoes for Lent every year. If she wasn't in a store, she had the TV shopping networks on speed dial.  Her genuine, sweet smile and thoughtfulness will be missed by all who were lucky to know her.  Always remember to appreciate the small things and know everything is a part of God's plan.

Patti is now reunited  in heaven with her parents John and Lu O'Connor; her brother Mike; and  her sister Barbie.  She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Larry; daughter Annette Shelton and husband James; son Joe and wife Lori; her grandchildren; stepmother Lorena O'Connor; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful staff of Ascend Hospice.

Services will be held on Friday, January 26, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and Funeral Mass at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Pius X High School .
