Obituary

Patrick "Shawn" Connely, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 17, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.

Shawn was born September 28, 1959, to Jerry and Darlene Connely. He graduated from Raytown High School with the Class of 1977. Shawn worked in the Wholesale Distribution of Appliance Parts and Heating and Cooling for over 40 years. He was Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Reliable Parts, formerly known as Appliance Parts Depot, in Dallas, Texas, when he retired in January of 2020. The love of family brought him back home to Kansas City, Missouri.

At the beginning of his career, Shawn met and later married the love of his life Teresa Jo "Teri Jo" Mitchell Connely, on April 20, 1985, and for 38 years they would travel the world, dance, and make many memories together.

Shawn lived a fulfilling life with his hobbies and interests revolving around all things outdoors: golfing, hunting, and most of all fishing with his wife. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Along with his parents, Shawn was greeted in heaven by his brother Darren Connely. He is survived by his wife Teri Jo Connely; son Patrick Shawn Connely ll and partner Nick Saporito; daughter Katherine Antoinette Connely Sheedy and husband Jordan Sheedy; sister Kelley Hamlin and husband Eric Hamlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shawn's passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but his memory will forever remain alive within us.

The family would like to thank the University of Kansas Cancer Center on Green Hills Road, especially his oncologist Dr. Jeremy Flanagan and his team of nurses; his palliative team, Dr. Lindy Lanzatt and her nurse Wendy and the rest of her team; and the entire Crossroads Hospice team, especially his nurse Doug and his aid Katlyn. All of you made his journey more tolerable.
