Paul John
Pace
Jan 9, 1943 — Aug 25, 2025
Paul John Pace, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri.
Born on January 9, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, Paul attended local Catholic grade schools and graduated from Northeast High School. He began his career in construction with Pace Paving Company and later retired from Clarkson Construction Company. A proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Paul was dedicated to his profession and was recognized with awards for his hard work and commitment.
Paul had a love for music. In the 1960s, he enjoyed singing in a doo-wop group, The Charms, performing at small venues across Kansas City.
On September 8, 1962, Paul married Mary Elaine Arend at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Kansas City. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage and the joy of raising three sons.
He and Mary shared a love of travel, visiting 44 states together. After retiring, Paul pursued his passion for landscaping and launched a second career with his business, Bushes and More.
And just as Frank Sinatra sang, Paul truly lived his life - "his way".
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, as well as his brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his loving three sons, Vincent (Janet), Chris (Peggy), and Nick (Jill); and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Angela), Michelle (Chris), Natalie, Eva, Jack, Mia, and Georgia, and treasured great grandsons Louis and Ellis.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 6, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
