Pete L. Sirna, 83, passed away July 5, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospice House, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, at the Funeral Home, followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum.
Pete was born February 7, 1935. He married the love of his life, Madeline Cherrito, on June 22, 1957, and was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He worked for Electronic Business Equipment for many years before he retired and took care of his wife for the last eight years of her life. Pete enjoyed traveling with his siblings and hunting with family and friends and was a member of the American Sons of Columbus where he served as president in 1978.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Madeline Sirna, in 2006; his parents, Joe and Jennie Sirna; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Anna Marie Sirna, Jerry and Rose Sirna; his sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Don Warnock; and his in-laws, Frank and Lena Cherrito, Joe and JoAnn Cherrito, Kathryn Valenti, and Annice Cherrito.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Sirna (Charles); son, Joe Mike Sirna (Ashley); grandchildren, Tanika Mattenlee (Nathan), Tarrissa Sturrock (Jason), Madeline Sirna, Brianna Sirna, Giana Smith, Joe Sirna Jr.; great-grandchildren, Skyler Mattenlee, Cash and Johnny Sturrock; sister, Rita Distefano (George); brothers-in-law, Anthony Valenti and Frank Cherrito; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Murphy.
Pallbearers: Jerry Sirna, Sam Distefano, Joseph Peter Sirna, Donny Warnock, Stephen Sirna, Sam Valenti, Joe Mike Sola, Frank Cherrito, Carl Cherrito, John Ziegler.
