Peter was born on July 28, 1973, to retired KCFD Deputy Chief Domenic and Jeanne (Rellihan) Serrone. He was an Eagle Scout and member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say - his tribal name was 'Little Foe of Unfriendly Fire' - and was a 1991 graduate of St. Mary's High School. His lifelong dream was to serve the people of his city by wearing the uniform of the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department. Peter was a KCFD Fire Captain and IAFF Local 42 member proudly serving 22 ½ years and was recognized and awarded the KCFD Medal for Bravery in the line of duty.
Along with his parents, Peter is survived by his loving wife, Alaina Serrone; his sons, Joseph D. Serrone (17) and Peter A. Serrone Jr. (14); his sister and brother-in-law, Desiree Serrone and Patrick Duff; and his nephews, Julian Duff, and George Samuel "Sam" Duff who adored his Uncle Pete. Peter would also want to be remembered as being survived by his brothers-in-arms, FAO Domenic P. Serrone, FF Patrick Serrone, FAO Michael Conroy, KCFD Fire Chief Gary Reese, and all active and retired brothers and sisters of the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department and IAFF Local 42.
