Philip Brancato, 72, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, September 20, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday, September 21, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 6415 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone, MO 64119. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Phil was born September 3, 1943, in Campofelice di Fitalia, Sicily, to Vito and Grace Brancato, and moved to the United States in September of 1966. He worked as a barber in Campofelice and continued his profession in the downtown area of Kansas City, MO. Through the years, he worked as a barber at the Hotel Phillips, 10th Street Barber Shop, and Commerce Tower Barber Shop where he later owned and operated it until his retirement in 2014.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Anthony Brancato. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marie (Ventura) Brancato; daughter, Grace Cangelosi and husband Michael and their children Laurena and Isabella; daughter, Christina Urruela and husband Mario IV and their children Mila and Mario V; sister-in-law, Margaret Brancato; and nephew and niece, Vito and Mary Brancato and their children.
Phil was a loving husband, father, and nonno who will be missed by all.
