Philip Joseph Miceli, 89, passed away December 2, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Rosary and Military Honors at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Phil's memory to Catholic Charities of Kansas City-St. Joseph .

Phil was born March 28, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Antonio and Mary (DiGraci) Miceli. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all he encountered. He never met a stranger. He graduated from De La Salle Military Academy in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict receiving decorations for marksmanship and good conduct. He was a graduate of Rockhurst University, receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting, and was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He went to work for Reynolds & Reynolds and later as a salesman for Schooley Office Supplies from which he retired.

Phil was very active in the community and was a member of Men's Cursillo #272 Franciscan Retreat Center. He was very proud of his Sicilian heritage and jumped at every chance for a family get-together.

Phil was preceded in death by his first wife Rosalie; his daughter Trina; and his second wife Nancy. He is survived by his daughter Juliann Lemon; his son Christopher Miceli; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

We will greatly miss Phil. We will miss his laugh and his endless stories that always kept us happy. He lived as an example of a proud Sicilian man. His life touched so many.
