Richard Peter Marascuilo (68) passed away on July 17, 2021.  Richard was born on August 23, 1952 in St. Paul, MN to Peter Patrick Marascuilo and Audrey Berlay Moore (Kaske). Richard moved to Kansas City, MO in 1965 and attended Northeast High School where he participated in track and wrestling. After graduating in 1971, Richard enlisted in the US Air Force Reserves.  Prior to going to basic training Richard met his wife and love of his life Connie (Malaponti) where during their 47 plus years of marriage they shared a special love and devotion for each other. Richard drove a semi truck for 29 years for Associated Wholesale Grocers, and 7 years with ABF where he retired.  After retirement Richard went to work for Platte County R3 School District driving a school bus where he was well loved and known as "Mr. Richard".

He was preceded in death by his father Peter Patrick Marascuilo (Father), mother Audrey Berlay Moore (Kaske), and brother Leonard Marascuilo.

He is survived by his wife Connie (Malaponti)  Marascuilo, daughters Anita (Marascuilo) Parks (Josh),  Annie (Marascuilo) Cox (Shawn), grandchildren Colin, Kyle, Cody, Karee, Cale (Anita) and Gabbie (Annie). Sister and Brother-In-Law Katherine Clingman (David), Brother and Sister-In-Law Vincent Marascuilo (Marsha). Sister-In-Law Josephine Lipari, Brother-In-Law Thomas C. Malaponti. Niece Michelle Henry (James), nephew Nicholas Lipari. Great niece and nephew Ellianna Henry and Jayce Henry.  He loved his family dearly and was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother, Brother-in-law and Grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, friends and especially grandchildren. Richard enjoyed and participated in numerous charitable 5K's and Flight for Life for the American Lung Association during his time .

Richard was always the life of the party. There was never a dull moment with Richard around; his laughter and sense of humor always lit up the room. Richard always made people feel comfortable; he made friends wherever he went; he never knew a stranger. He will be missed by all. What we have lost, heaven has gained.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank KU Medical Center and Transplant.  Dr Shune and her staff, Dr Pluenneke and staff, Dr. James Hall, Dr. Andrea Anthony, Platte County R3 staff and families, MKCCPP and NUCPP, Unified Lightning Soccer Family, as well as all of our friends and family for all the love and support during dad's diagnosis and treatment of lymphoma.
