Richard Gus Tallen, Sr., 73, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, MO.

Richard was born May 10, 1942, in Moberly, MO. He held a master's degree and loved teaching. He also attended medical school. He was involved in real estate. He competed in power lifting, competitive tennis, and professional wrestling. He judged and facilitated beauty pageants. Later in life he enjoyed retirement and visiting the casinos with his many friends. Most important of all to him was spending time with his family.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Grace Tallen; brother, George Tallen; sister, Marguerite Hirst; and grandchild, Lamb Tallen. He is survived by his children, Regina Tallen, Richard Tallen II, Ron Tallen (ShyAnn), Randy Tallen (Ashley), Roger Tallen (Autumn); and his grandchildren, Justin, Richard III, Samantha, Kloe, and Ron II.
