Rita C. Shane, 73, Liberty MO, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning, August 25, 2015. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 5 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. on Friday, August 28, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday, August 29, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8812 E. Gregory Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.

Rita grew up in St. Aloysius Parish of Kansas City and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for most of her adult life. She was an organist and played countless weddings and funerals throughout the area. She married Jewell G. Shane in 1958. After raising their five children Rita worked for AT&T until retirement. Through the years she touched many lives with her generous heart, making numerous lifelong friends.

Her large extended family was a source of great pride. She leaves behind her husband Jewell; children, Rita, Ruth Ann, Jewell, Arsenio & wife Alicia, Dan & wife Kim; grandchildren, Nina & Andrew, Elias & Teryn, Isaac, Amos & Caitlin, Hana, Derik, Jacob, Tyler, Frankie & Carolyn, Raye Ann, Cameron, and Colton; great-grandchildren, Regina, Eliana, Angelica, Joseph, Caleb, Elle, Josh, and Emma; brother, Pete; sisters, Isabella, Lucy, Patricia, Mary Jane, Mary Hilda, Rosita, Theresa, and Prescilla.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arsenio and Prescilla Madrid; brothers, Lawrence and Tony; sister, Emma; son-in-law, Joseph; and grandson, Josh.
