Robert W. "Bob" Cowan, 78, passed away August 5, 2019. A private burial with military honors will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the National Corvette Museum ; or the Disabled American Veterans .

Bob was born on February 15, 1941, in Mishawaka, IN, to Margaret and Burless Cowan.  Bob proudly served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army for over 14 years with a tour in Vietnam. Bob was a well-respected product manager specializing in heavy duty brake parts and retired in 2009 from Haldex Brake Products. Bob's career led him to live in several cities within the U.S. His preference was anywhere that was sunny and warm.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Burless;  and his brother, William. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Jane Cowan; along with his children, Shantelle Wallace, Dina  (Greg) Mireles, Tomi (Tommy) Wright,  and Lauren (Joe) Ray; ten grandchildren, Matthew (Kaitlyn), Bryce, Austin, Joshua, Tristen, Gabriella, Tanner, Vincent, Caroline, Sam; one great-granddaughter, Isabella; and his brother, George.

Bob was a Veteran, husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, friend, neighbor, and a well-respected worker.  Bob was devoted to his wife, providing her with love, support, care and went above and beyond for her needs.  Those who know Bob and Mary Jane would witness their fun-loving gestures and their sense of humor which shaped their loving marriage.  Bob was a Corvette enthusiast. Bob and Mary Jane enjoyed corvette caravans which allowed them to travel the open roads and make many friends along the way.   Bob will be greatly missed but we all have peace knowing he is at peace and is cruising around in heaven, watching over all of his loved ones.
