Obituary

Robert Ray Cooper, 82, passed away October 3, 2018. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
Bob was born in West Virginia on July 27, 1936, to the late Fred and Pearl Cooper. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Alaska. He worked for Corn Products for 25 years and owned Grace's Cafe in the East Bottoms for 16 years with his wife. Bob and Grace cooked and served a Christmas Eve Dinner for 15 years out of the former St. Francis Seraph Church and, later, they cooked every week at City Union Mission until his health worsened. He was also a Freemason.
Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Irene, Avonelle, Hazel, and Doug. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Grace Ann (Cambiano) Cooper; his children, Melchorre DeGraeve (Robert), Robert Cooper II (Frances); his grandchildren, Teresa, Brandy, Nichole, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Brendon, Zachary, Christopher, Tommy Joe, Samantha, Christian, Dominic, Unicque, Gianna; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn Cooper, Louise Ryan, Michael Cambiano (Roseann); and many nieces and nephews.
