It is with a heavy heart to announce the death of husband, father, and grandfather, Robert Edward Furnari. He passed away peacefully at his home in Gladstone, Missouri. Bob was born on November 29th of 1943 and peacefully died on November 14th in the year of Our Lord Jesus Christ 2022. He was two weeks away from his 79th birthday.

Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York to Tony and Lenore Furnari. He graduated high school in Winter Haven, Florida. Bob and his son Robert moved to Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri back in 1983 where he met the love of his life, Barbara, whereby they spent almost the next 40 years of marriage together. Being the fighter that he was, Bob was a role model of faith, sacrificial love, and strength to everyone who knew and loved him. Bob and Barbara, joyfully, raised five children together, and had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. After getting married and moving around the country for some years, they moved back to Florida to be near Bob's parents, until finally moving to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1996.

Once Bob got settled in Kansas City, he began a career in rehabbing homes in midtown Kansas City, whereby he saw it as his first ministry because it was an opportunity to give people work, pray with them, and to help people obtain their dream of getting their first homes. In 2007, and the proceeding years, Bob's life would change by the events of the housing collapse, a stroke, heart attack and open-heart surgery, but through God's providence and grace these events would act as instruments in him turning completely to God for strength, guidance, peace, and salvation.

In his teen years, Bob had a passion of working out, boxing, and he won many dance competitions. These early interests led him to owning a gym before he was twenty years old, followed by him owning two night-clubs with his younger brother later on. Though he enjoyed these first business endeavors, it was from them that he really discovered his entrepreneurial spirit and love of sales, which is what led him to Missouri and the real estate market.

Although he never quit trying, after experiencing many roadblocks in his professional career, following the housing market crash, he simultaneously took this as an opportunity to grow in his relationship with his family, including home-schooling his youngest child. Only in the last few years of his life, what he recognizes as one of his life's greatest accomplishments, aside from his family, is the startup of the Precious Blood prayer group. This is where his faith and fellowship grew exponentially.

The Bob Furnari that we knew personally as a husband, father, and friend, was a warrior at heart. He never quit fighting, spiritually and physically. He was tough but gentle. He had an intuition into life that can only be called wisdom. He was the most loving and brightest individual. He was the biggest influence to his family, and in many ways, he lives on in his children by giving to them his character and qualities. He was a man who was ready to give his own life for his family at any moment. Words cannot describe how fiercely he loved.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbara; and his four sons Robert, Jason, Nick, and Marcus; and one daughter Angelina; nine grandchildren: Augustine, Timothy, Natalya, Matthew, Anthony, Kathleen, Kelly, Anthony, and Ciliana; and two great-grandchildren, Makeylla and Noah.

The funeral services will be held at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish in Gladstone, Missouri, on Saturday November 26, starting with the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., visitation afterwards, and the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Following the Holy Mass, the burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, which will be followed by a luncheon back at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish.
