Ron Ash went to visit his many friends on May 24, 2016. He was 74 years old. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Leavenworth, KS National Cemetery.
Born in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, to Frank and Angeline (Arch) Ash on October 23, 1941. Ron and his parents moved to California when he was young and this is when he decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy. In 1958, he was stationed at Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, California, and doing a tour of duty in Viet Nam as captain of a riverboat on the Melong Delta. Once receiving his Honorable Discharge on October 17, 1962, Ron became a carpenter in Yucca Valley and 29 Palms, California, then traveling to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and finally landing in Kansas City, Missouri. Ron was a craftsman beyond compare as a cabinetmaker, carpenter, and detail finish expert. He had a lifelong love of fishing in many rivers, lakes, and ponds.
Ron Ash was one of the best and truly is missed.
