Rosalie
Cannova
Sep 5, 1938 — Jun 11, 2022
Rosalie Cannova, 83, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022.
Rosalie was born September 5, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank and Josephine LoPorto. In 1958 she married the love of her life, Joe Cannova. She was one of the kindest women to walk the earth, and selflessly devoted her life to the good of her family. One of her best quotes was "there is no reason to be unkind."
Rosalie was known as the dearest friend. Her sense of humor and her jokes were loved by all. She was a social butterfly and loved hanging out and traveling with her girlfriend groups.
She enjoyed adventures with her husband, going to the casino, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Rosalie and Joe were always traveling. They were able to see many countries and some of their best memories were made in Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
Rosalie held an unwavering faith in God. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Church of the Nativity Parish. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Josephine (Saragusa) LoPorto; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Sam and Clara Cannova; her brother-in-law Mike Cannova; and her grandson Sam Paris.
Survivors include her husband Joe Cannova; her children Clara and Joseph Paris, Jodi and Dave Belpedio, Dee Dee and Marion Battaglia; grandchildren T.J. Jarvis, Joe Paris (Liz), Joe Jarvis (fiancé Allie), David Belpedio (Molly), Brad Jarvis (fiancé Natalie), Laura Belpedio, Nicolas Battaglia, and Frank Paris; her great-grandchildren Emilia Rose Paris and Baby Belpedio (due in August); and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Carl and Tommie Cannova, and Cathy Cannova.
Pallbearers will be Rosalie's grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers include Jo Marie Cucchiara, Gloria Nigro, Sugi DiCapo, Mary Ferro, Nancy Lipari, Mary Teresa Accurso, and Frances Brocato.
The family offers many thanks to her very special caregivers: Sunny, Alma, Debbie, Kathy, Daisy, and Katie for all their loving care. We also would like to thank the amazing staff of Catholic Community Hospice especially Kim, Samantha, and Cassie.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, at Church of the Nativity in Leawood, KS. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Raytown, MO.
