Rose Sarah (Falco) Cook, 92, passed away on May 15, 2025, at St. Anthony's Memory Care, with loved ones nearby.

Rose was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 11, 1933, the second of four children born to the late John and Sadie (Pisciotta) Falco. Her siblings include Carl Falco (Joann), Rosalie Ross (Fred), and Frank Falco. Carl and Rosalie preceded her in death. Rose married the love of her life, William James Cook, on September 13, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2008. She and William had five children: John (deceased), Mary Teresa Hawkins (Steve), Sandi Martin (Chris Weishar), Bill, Jr. (Cynthia), and Anthony (Angela). Rose was blessed with nine grandchildren: Gina Tarantino, Ariana Martin (Sean), Calyn Beamon (John), Sarah Cook, Billy Cook, Megan Cook, Kelly Cook, Anthony Cook, and Alex Cook; and four great-grandchildren with one on the way: Chazz, Brooklynn, Gracie, and Kirah. Rose is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rose began her married life as a stay-at-home mom until her youngest child was of school age. She then had numerous jobs to help raise her family. Those included working at TG&Y and St. Luke's Hospital in the medical records department from which she retired. She returned to work part time at Children's Mercy Hospital and lastly at Johnny C's restaurant.

Rose was a devout Catholic. She met her husband Bill when both took part in the church choir at St. Aloysius Parish. They loved going to dances at the Knights of Columbus and singing in choir together. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for many years and was a member of the Altar Society. She especially enjoyed the Diocesan bus trips she organized to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.

In her later years she enjoyed going to the Don Bosco Senior Center, playing Bingo, having a complimentary lunch and dressing up for Halloween. Even when Rose couldn't attend Don Bosco, they saw to it that she had a daily nutritious meal. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays. Her home was always beautifully decorated with faith filled décor. This included her stays at The Gardens in NKC, The Gardens on Barry Road, and St. Anthony's Memory Care. She won several prizes for her entry door decorations.

Memorial Day weekends were special to her so that she could visit Bill at the National Cemetery in Leavenworth, knowing that one day she would be laid to rest with him. She had many health struggles in her life but continued to pray and rely on her faith in God.

Rose is pain free and flying on eagle's wings, reuniting with her loved ones in heaven. We love you, Mom - Save a place for us!

Services will be held on Thursday, May 22, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 a.m. followed by Visitation at 9:15 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Donations may be made in her honor to Holy Cross Catholic Church and Don Bosco Senior Center.
