Rose Sara Licausi, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 24, 2020.  Her last week of life was filled with her family by her side visiting, talking, laughing, and crying while telling many stories of her wonderful life. Visitation will be 10 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, KCMO. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, KCMO. Masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica , 801 S. 8th St., Atchison, KS 66002-2724.

Rose was born March 22, 1930 in Kansas City, MO, to the late Frank and Marie (Armato) Buccero. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Lee Licausi.

Rose graduated from Southwest High School and graduated from Stephens College. She married Lee Licausi in 1951 and spent most of her adult life raising their 5 children and helped in the family business; Lee Vending; for many years. One of her first jobs in the vending industry was to insert two pennies under the wrapper in a pack of cigarettes to give change to the customer for their purchase of .15 for a pack of Cigarettes. Rose and Lee spent most of their retirement going to the Casino's, trade show conventions to see many of their friends from the Vending industry.  She was able to spend time and attend many activities with her Grandchildren.  She also went on several family trips from Mexico, Florida to California and many more destinations.

She participated in her bowling league at Ward Parkway Lanes for many years and loved exercising at Curves and was quite proud of her 1000th workout achievement. She loved her food HOT! She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed feeding old biscuits to the birds on her balcony

She encouraged her children to pursue their interests and expected dedication and commitment; Music practice and homework were always completed before it was time to play and the dreaded whistle was heard indicating it was time to come in which was always before our friends had to.

Survivors include her children, Jo Marie Licausi (Charles Dorfman), Leah Licausi (Aaron Duncan), Lenora Behravan, Frank Licausi, Paul Licausi (Sandy); 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Buccero, a niece, two nephews, cousins, and friends.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Donald Cohen for his compassionate medical care for many years, the Nurses and staff at Menorah Medical Center and the wonderful caregivers from Premier Custom Care.
