Rose Marie (LaPuma) Palermo passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Wilshire at Lakewood Nursing Home at the age of 92.
Rosie was born on April 22, 1924, in the North End but grew up on Olive Street. She was predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence "Babe" Palermo; and her sisters Lena DeMarco, Kathryn Raker, and Annette Palermo. She is survived by her brother John LaPuma; three children: Carl L. Palermo, Anthony (Gaye) Palermo and Margarite (Dennis) Hill; grandchildren Michael (Kara) Palermo, Kristen (Gil) Carolino, Daniel (Elizabeth) Bogh, James (Tina) Bogh, Brent Hill, Lisa (Adam) Mendoza, and Stephen (Katherine) Bogh; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosie loved music and especially loved to dance. She was well known throughout Wilshire for her quick and lively steps whenever there was entertainment. The family would like to thank the kind staff at Wilshire for their care over the last ten years and Gentiva Hospice for being there for her final hours.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
