Rose LaVonne (Caruso) Wingfield, 74, of Kansas City, MO, died May 15, 2012, at NorthCare Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Rose was born December 29, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of the late Victor and Vinneola Caruso. She was the youngest of three siblings. She graduated from Manuel High School in 1956. On August 1, 1959, she married Charles R. Wingfield who preceded her in death. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and American and Yellow cab companies. Rose loved to volunteer at St. Anthony's church food pantry, Union Station, The Kansas City Museum, and many other non-profit organizations. She loved life, her family and her faith. Rose never complained and always found the good in everyone she came in contact with. Bingo was her favorite past time. Her Italian heritage and her life in the north end (little Italy) was as real to her today as it was the day she was born.

Rose was preceded in death by her son Charles F. Wingfield. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Mitch Carathers, Edie Marie and Rocky Battaglia, Betsy and Louis Tricarico II, all of Kansas City, MO; daughter-in-law Shirley Wingfield of Joplin, MO; grandchildren, Nicole, Louis and Stephanie, Gregory, Rose Marie, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Louis, Isabella, and Vito.

Visitation will be held at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, on Friday, May 18, where family and friends may visit from 3-8 p.m. with the Rosary at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E.
