Roselyn (Mandacina)
Kraack
Jan 9, 1941 — Feb 23, 2024
Roselyn Mandacina Kraack, 83, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, with her children at her side. Services will be held on Thursday, February 29, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
Roselyn was born in Kansas City, MO on January 9, 1941, to the late Sam and Lucille (Valenti) Mandacina. She was raised in the Northeast Kansas City area where she spent many years with her family and her cousins, who were very special to her. While growing up, she was very proud of her time playing the accordion and performing in ballets. She graduated from Glennon High School in 1957.
Roselyn served on the Kansas City election board and enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society long before she was diagnosed with cancer. Roselyn was a two-time breast cancer survivor. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren, creating fond memories of taking them to the North Kansas City water parks and teaching them how to bake cookies. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting. She created many blankets for her family and friends. She also loved to make jewelry and share her pieces with others. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling to San Diego and Mexico with her cousin JoEllen (Bivona) Plaskett.
Along with her parents, Roselyn was preceded in death by her beloved brother Charles "Buddy" Mandacina; and her sons Ted and Sam Mandacina. She is survived by her son Jack Weber; her daughters and sons-in-law Danita and Steve Palma, Lanita and Mike Bax; her grandchildren Lucy, Alisha, Sam, Francesca, Nick, Pierce, Jackson, and Alaina; and her 10 great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love her and will miss her.
Though she is no longer with us in this life, Roselyn left behind many priceless gifts that will carry on. Her love of family and kind, giving spirit will endure forever.
