Rosemary (Quarrato) Cilia, 92, Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 5, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116, from 11 to 1 p.m., with the Funeral Mass to follow at 1 p.m. The burial will be private.

Rosemary was born July 5, 1928, in Kansas City, MO, to Carlo and Jennie (Belfonte) Quarrato and was the oldest of four siblings. She grew up in Kansas City's North End neighborhood. Rosemary remained a faithful member of Holy Rosary Church throughout her life, serving, in her younger days, as an avid member of the Altar Society and later in life as the church secretary for Father Angelo Moscato and Father Angelo Carboni. She attended Karnes Grade School and graduated from Manual Highschool in 1945. In 1959, she met the love of her life, Salvatore Cilia, and they married that same year on September 19. In 1971, Sal and Rosemary moved to the Northland and made one of the most impactful decisions of their lives by joining St. Patrick's Parish, a church community that they were both deeply connected to and loved dearly.

Above all, Rosemary loved her husband, three children, family, and church community with an unwavering fierceness. Whether cooking manicotti for nearly 40 family members or serving as a lay minister to bring the precious body of Our Lord to the sick and bedbound, Rosemary always welcomed those around her with open arms and compassion.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, and the alpha to her omega, her baby brother Michael Quarrato; her brother-in-law Marco Filardo; her sister-in-law Josephine Elliott (Leonard). She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Salvatore Cilia and their three children, Mary Ellen Fisher (Dale), JoAnne Duncan (Clint) and Angelo Cilia (Mark Para); grandchildren Tracy and Alex Fisher, Katie and Samantha Duncan; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jonah Waring; her sisters Jacqueline Filardo and Geraldine Quarrato; her sister-in-law Antoinette Quarrato and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Inspired by her love of music and the theater, Rosemary's family suggests making donations to Quality Hill Playhouse or to the parish church that she devoted so much of her life to, St. Patrick's Church.
