Rosetta Pernice, 86, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023.
Rosetta was born on July 6, 1936, to John and Phyllis (Fennie Nigro) Mangiaracina in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1954. Rosetta lived her entire life in Kansas City. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Rosetta married the love of her life Rudy Pernice on May 1, 1956, and for 54 years they danced together. Rosetta was a homemaker and also worked in clothing retail sales at Macy's, Dillard's, and Casual Corner which reflected her impeccable style of fashion.
Rosetta had a love for music and dancing, she loved attending lunches with her many social clubs that included lifelong friends and cousins. She loved going to the movies as well as reading, traveling and entertaining with friends and family. She loved receiving cards for birthdays and holidays and would display them for months. Rosetta had a love for decorating, and she created a festive atmosphere for holidays for her family. She was a faithful member of St Gabriel's Catholic Church.
Along with her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Pernice; and her loving grandson Anthony Pernice.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Phillip and Valerie Pernice, Susan and Frank Mascaro; her grandchildren Carl and Jessica Mascaro, Alexandra (Pernice) and Ed Etayo, Rudy and Kristi Mascaro; her precious great-grandchildren Frank and Lydia Mascaro, Annalise Etayo, Raphael and Ria Mascaro; her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Kris Mangiaracina; sister-in-law Nancy Pernice; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice and The Atriums for supporting Rosetta during her final days.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
