Rudolph F. "Rudy" Langer, 76, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at the Funeral Home, followed by burial at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Rudy was born in Bolivia on February 4, 1941, to Helmuth and Edith Langer. He came to the United States at an early age, and was a graduate of Westport High School. Rudy was known for his award-winning vintage car collection and was owner of several businesses including Schneider Bailey, Langer Auto Museum, KC Vintage Cars, and Langer Development for which he won numerous awards for architectural design. Rudy was also a devoted volunteer for the Salvation Army for over 25 years.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Helga. He is survived by his children, Randy Langer (Cynthia), Phillip Langer, Robin Drake, and Mara Norton; his grandchildren, Andrew Langer, Kevie Drake, Kinsley Drake, Samantha Ross, and Sarah Trinh; his great-grandchildren, Aubree and Aiden Langer, Sophia Pham, and Jayden Trinh; and his brother, Pete Langer.
