Ruth Diane Ross, age 63, of Liberty, MO, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Ruth was born on April 16, 1959, in Kansas City, MO., the daughter of Fred and Rosalie Ross.  She is survived by her father, Fred Ross Sr. and eleven brothers and sisters: Fred Jr. (JoAnn), Marie, John (Madelyn), Francis (Lori), Linda Loehr (Matt), Chris (Carolyn), Jim (Cheryl), Joe (Angie), Lisa Young (Mike), Rosalie Brashears (Rob), Vince (Lindsay), along with numerous nephews and nieces.  She is preceded in death by her mother Rosalie Ross and her nephew James Brashears.

Ruth graduated from St. Pius X High School in KC, MO and earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Park University.  She worked for several local Kansas City companies before bringing her skills as an accountant to the family business, Custom Truck & Equipment, for the past twenty years. Working alongside eight of her siblings there, her dedication, work ethic and leadership helped drive the success of the company.

As the eldest daughter, Ruth was born a natural protector and nurturer. She embraced the responsibility to help provide for her siblings and maintain a strong sense of family. With her generous spirit, she served not only her family and friends, but also countless charities, quietly and humbly offering her time, treasure and talents.

Ruth was a strong advocate for women in sports. She volunteered at Holy Cross Catholic Church, serving as the Athletic Director and head coach of several of the girls' basketball, volleyball and softball teams for over two decades. She extended her talents into coaching girls' club volleyball through the North Stars Volleyball Club, inspiring many of her own nieces in their athletic pursuits.

Her devout faith motivated her to be an active member of the church, where she served as the Confirmation Director and lent her voice to the choir for many years.

"Aunt Ruthie" had 53 nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children. One would always find the youngest members of the family cradled in Ruth's arms where she soothed them with ice cream and The Carpenters' ballads. Her unwavering support for her nieces and nephews instilled the value of family on multiple generations.

Ruth was a pillar in her family, the very picture of selflessness and grace. Her profound generosity and unfaltering love for her family live on even as her soul rests.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, at St. Andrew the Apostle, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Pius X High School for a scholarship for young women in Ruth's name.
