Ryan A. James, 34, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at Saint Luke's Hospice House, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on August 24, 1990, in Kansas City, Ryan was a lifelong resident of the community. He attended St. Stephen's and St. Ann's for grade school before graduating from St. Mary's High School in 2009. During his youth, Ryan was an avid sports player, always found on the field or court, giving his all. As he grew older, his passion for sports never waned—transitioning from a player to a dedicated spectator of the Chiefs, Royals and Missouri Tigers.

Gatherings with family and friends were at the heart of Ryan's life. He had a thoughtful nature, finding joy in the small moments with those dear to him. These events defined Ryan's happiest times, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and togetherness.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jim and Mary Aycock; his siblings, Mark Blanton and David James; and his sister, Katie (Blanton) Taylor, and her husband, Brad. Ryan was a proud uncle to Cora, Peter, and Luke Taylor. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss his presence.

A service to honor Ryan's life will be held Wednesday, February 26, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, where friends and family are invited to gather.  Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by Rosary and Eulogy at 6:30 p.m. A private burial will take place on a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Saint Luke's Hospice House , in Ryan's memory.

Ryan will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
