Obituary

Rosaria "Sadie" Theresa Tarantino, 91, passed away peacefully at the home surrounded by her Children on January 19th, 2012. She was born June 22, 1920 to Gaspare and Vicenza (Lucido) Tutorino, in Kansas City, MO. Sadie attended Jane Hayes Gates Institute and Northeast High School. She married the only love of her life, Pete Joseph Tarantino in 1940. Pete and Sadie raised a family together in Kansas City, MO until Pete's untimely death in 1970. From that time on Sadie fully accepted the responsibility of being the matriarch of her family.

Sadie continued working after her husband Pete's passing to support and raise two children at home. Working at Betty Rose Corporation, and the Kansas City Royals organization for over 10 years filled her life with good friends and wonderful times.
Sadie was an active member of Redemptorist Senior Citizens Center. She loved the traditional Italian Sport of Bocce and did so at the American Daughters of Columbus Bocce League. Sadie even traveled to St. Louis and Chicago to compete in Bocce tournaments. Sadie was a beloved and cherished teammate and considered by all league members as a true friend.

Sadie's life was an overriding example of the caring and loving qualities which was a mere representation of her true character. The love of family gatherings and Sadie's attendance at all School and Sporting events for her grandchildren was also one of her passions. An absolutely beautiful woman, blessed by God, and loved by all around her. Once you met "Sadie", with her quick smile, expression of humor, and love for life, you would never forget her. The values and principals she imparted by example to family and those around her will continue her legacy in life as the inspiration for her children to follow. Her strength was founded on her faith in the Catholic Church. She was the center and Heart of her family.

Sadie is survived by two sisters: Callie Saluto and Antoinette Migliazzo; five children: Anthony Tarantino and wife Marge, Annette Mason and husband Cliff, Virginia Tarantino, Rosetta Tarantino, Joseph Tarantino and wife Annie, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Louis Tutorino, Joseph Tutorino, George Tutorino, and sisters Brenda Tutorino and Kathryn Presta.

Mother was especially blessed to have tender constant care given by her Daughters, Rosetta, Jeanne Tarantino, Annette Mason and grand-daughter, Gina Tarantino. Special appreciation to Hospice Advantage who so lovingly cared for Sadie in her last moments.
